The complete guide on how to setup a virtual machine with GPU passthrough in Ubuntu I’ve notice that with ac97 the sounds is perfect but with intel-hda we have great amount of noise. Comment 3 Aaron Lu The default sound device ich6 is used. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

In any case – harmonize sample rates

The sound is not as continuous as before with some noise from time to time. It was just not outputting it to my pulse-audio as I’d expect it to. I did that as long as the host wasn’t using the NIC it worked very well, but since I like to multi-task if I started a file transfer from my host to one of the servers on our network while playing say GW2 it just simply killed the guest connection, it never lost connection but had so much latency that pushing W on the keyboard to move forward in the game took several seconds to respond of course holding the key down was a disaster VFIO is a device driver that is used to assign devices to virtual machines.

As a result we are closing this bug. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora ‘version’ of ’27’. Login [x] Log in using an account from: Comment 5 Aaron Lu Comment 10 Aaron Lu Do you know what this is about?

Share host audio with Windows guest (Arch Linux host) : VFIO

I added a sound device using virt-manager with ich6 audio and Windows device manager detects and installs jch6 drivers but no sound can be heard through this device. Just to follow up.

ivm Comment 9 Aaron Lu At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora ‘version’ of ’23’. Thank icch6 for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 21 is end of life.

If yes make sure to add these options: All these were not recognised by Windows at all: Der eingeblendete Hinweis Banner dient dieser Informationspflicht.

Next job is to get Looking Glass working so I don’t need to switch inputs and hopefully Windows will be relegated to just an app on my Linux box. Comment 17 Aaron Lu Something like this [0] should help you but I’m not sure it’ll help.

Virtual machine audio setup – or how to get pulse audio working –

Submit a new text post. I was surprised to find that changing the video device from VNC to Spice leaving everything else unchanged caused the audio to start working. Using AC97 device as per the above comment, my audio is almost perfect but nobody on a conference call can hear me because my mic is incredibly soft! I think this can be verified after you launched the guest with ‘ps ax’ and check what exactly the cmdline options are passed to qemu.

If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Comment 15 Aaron Lu Adding the spice server adds actually several devices to the VM config, one for example is an display.

The default sound device ich6 is used. I considered that but I like solving problems more than spending money.

Comment 34 Aaron Lu Comment 4 Aaron Lu Yeah, that’s the only issue I know. If you think about how shared hardware works in a KVM it’s pushing things to share a keyboard or mouse although both are very doable, but when it comes to a device like a NIC or SC it’s going to cause problems with either the host or guest or both, when I shared a NIC between both it worked but latency made playing a on-line game like WOW or GW2 almost impossible.

Replace default sound manager in settings? Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. I will compare spice server, pulse audio and a hardware solution.
